CAMARILLO : Amtrak OKs Free Stops at Station
- Share via
After months of wrangling over the cost of providing Amtrak service to Camarillo, the rail carrier has agreed to stop at the station free of charge.
Amtrak withdrew its request for $150,000 in track and station improvements after a series of discussions with members of the Ventura County Transportation Commission.
The commission began working to bring Amtrak trains to Camarillo shortly after a temporary station was built to serve commuters riding Metrolink trains in the wake of the Jan. 17 earthquake.
