Enough Coddling

* I read with disgust the article, “Word Bond” (Aug. 17).
I respectfully request instead that the “Korean Americans” and the “Latinos” both learn and use English.
I’m a first generation American born circa 1923. My parents learned and used English. I’m as proud, if not prouder, of my heritage as (others) are of theirs.
Enough of this coddling!
Even more disgusting is to hear, in public, the young descendants converse in a language other than English. We were taught that it is discourteous to speak in public in a language not understandable to other people who are present.
God bless America and its forebears.
