Coach: Bill Sumner (11th year).
1993: Southern Section Division III-A champions; Sea View League runner-up; third at Orange County Championships.
Key returners: Tracy Clark, Sr.; Ashley Conover, Jr.; Christy Cummins, Jr.; Dresden Howell, Sr.; Brooke Meek, Sr.; Charlise Tiee, Sr. Key newcomers: Laurel Hafer, So.; Brooke Robinson, Fr.
Outlook: The Sea Kings have the potential to be one of the State’s finest teams, assuming five of their top seven runners can produce on the same day. Clark was the most consistent of the group last fall, finishing fourth at the league finals and sixth at the Orange County Championships. Howell was fifth in both races, then chose to skip the track season. Meek, who came on strong at the end of the cross-country season, was a standout 800- and 1,600-meter runner during the spring. Cummins was a consistent performer last season and Conover was also a varsity member. Tiee saw limited action among the Sea Kings’ top seven last season and should have her responsibilities increased this fall. Hafer and Robinson appear to be the best hopes as far as new faces go.
