Blake’s Goal Lifts Kings

DALY CITY, Calif. — Defenseman Rob Blake broke a 3-3 tie with a power-play goal early in the third period as the Kings edged the San Jose Sharks, 4-3, in an exhibition game Sunday night.

Blake beat goalie Wade Flaherty from the top of the slot at 1:13 of the third period for the decisive goal.

Wayne Gretzky scored his first exhibition goal of the year when he took a pass from Jari Kurri and scored on the power play at 9:36 of the second period.
