When you think of Irvine, think apartments.
A recent study by a market research firm rated Irvine as South County’s premier apartment destination, with an occupancy rate of 98.6%.
Laguna Hills ranked second with a 98.3% occupancy rate, followed by Newport Beach at 98%, according to Research Network.
But Irvine takes second place when it comes to average monthly rental rates.
Newport Beach has the highest average rent in South County--$987--with Irvine trailing close behind with an average rent of $962 a month.
Today
Placentia’s sixth annual Veteran’s Day Observance Program takes place at 10 a.m.
The guest speaker for the event is Col. M.J. McCarthy. He will give a speech entitled “To Lay Down One’s Life for You, Brother.”
The service is designed to honor Placentia veterans and others who have fallen while defending their country.
The event will be at the Placentia Civic Center, 411 E. Chapman Ave.
