Man Fatally Stabbed During Fight Near Garden Grove Home

GARDEN GROVE — A Garden Grove man was fatally stabbed Wednesday during a fight outside a home, police said.

John Anthony Scarkino, 21, was found laying on a driveway near the site of the fight with a stab wound in his upper chest, Lt. John Woods said.

He was involved in a fight about 9 p.m. with as many as three other people in front of a house in the 12000 block of Kathy Lane, Woods said. Scarkino then ran around the corner and was later discovered dead in a driveway on John Avenue. He had suffered a severed artery, authorities said.

Police were still sorting out the fatal confrontation and no arrests have been made, Woods said. Scarkino may have been fighting one other person before two others jumped into the fray, he added.
