The international leader of the St. Augustine order of Catholic priests will visit Ojai on Monday and Tuesday to meet with fellow clergyman and to celebrate Mass.
Father Miguel Angel Orcasitas will attend a private luncheon today at Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai. He will say a public Mass at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, said Father John Pejza, a priest at Villanova.
Orcasitas will also meet individually with members of the Augustinian Order at Villanova and at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. He was elected as the order’s prior general in 1989, Pejza said.
The Augustinians, founded in 1244, are one of the oldest orders of Catholic priests, brothers and sisters. In Ojai, the order operates Villanova and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
