A man found beaten to death near the Foothill Freeway in Sun Valley was identified Friday as Davinder Gill, 30, of Los Angeles, police said.
Caltrans workers found Gill’s body in a ravine Monday as they cleared a drain along the freeway between La Tuna Canyon Road and Sunland Boulevard, police said. At the time of the discovery, authorities were unable to identify Gill, but speculated that he had been dead for up to a week.
Police said the investigation into Gill’s killing was hampered by Southern California’s storms, which may have washed away valuable clues.
LAPD Detective Frank Bishop said Friday investigators plan to find and interview Gill’s friends and family in an effort to solve the crime.
