GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Hall Leads Eagles Past St. Margaret’s

Hayley Hall scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds for Capistrano Valley Christian in a 61-54 victory against St. Margaret’s (4-6, 1-1). Freshman April Flanagan added 15 points for the Eagles (6-9, 2-1) and Jeni Carney had six assists.

Jean Freeman scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Tartans. Teammate Shay Trette scored 14 points.

Connelly 45, Liberty Christian 34--Georgina Cervantes scored 16 points and had eight rebounds to lead visiting Connelly (3-6, 1-1).

Norwalk Pioneer Baptist 50, Heritage Christian 21--April West scored nine points for Heritage Christian (2-8, 2-3). Israel Green scored seven points and had 10 rebounds. Mindy Jeffrey scored 16 for Pioneer Baptist.

Garden Grove 50, Rancho Alamitos 21--Sara Monsoor led 10 scorers for host Garden Grove (9-6, 5-0) with 13 points.

Santiago 29, Los Amigos 25--Angie Ching-Sam scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Santiago (8-9, 3-1). Alejandra Torres added nine points and seven steals and Laura McIntosh scored three points.
