CAMARILLO : Airport, 650 Residences Lose Power in Outage
- Share via
Camarillo Airport resorted to backup generators after the facility lost electrical power in an outage that also affected about 650 residential customers, officials said Saturday.
John Graham, an air traffic controller, said the airport remained open, but electronic locks and gates to some airport hangars were inoperable, causing pilots to leave some doors propped open.
The outage occurred at 3:38 p.m., when a circuit on Arneill Road failed for an unknown reason, said Ernie Daniel, customer operations superintendent for Southern California Edison.
An Edison crew was working late Saturday to restore electricity to the area.
