Katella 13, Kennedy 0--Jason Stockstill pitched a two-hitter to lead Katella (4-4, 1-0). Stockstill also had three hits and six RBIs.
Loara 3, Century 2 (8)--Juan Trujillo scored on Carson Crucil’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning for Loara (5-1, 1-0).
Century had tied the score in the seventh inning on a two-out error.
In the Century League:
Canyon 21, Villa Park 1--Eric Valent went three for six, including a double and triple, with three runs scored and four runs batted in for host Canyon (5-1).
Orange 7, Foothill 4--Art Bell went two for four with two runs scored for host Orange (2-4, 1-0). David Matraga, who was hit twice, scored two runs for the Panthers.
Santa Ana Valley 7, El Modena 6--Santa Ana Valley scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, capped by Rick Chavez’s two-run single to center. Frank Bojorovez was three for three with a double, triple and two runs batted in for El Modena.
In the Freeway League:
Buena Park 11, Fullerton 8--Dustin Strike was three for three with three runs and two RBIs for Buena Park (3-1, 1-0).
Sonora 5, La Habra 4--Sonora rallied from a 3-2 deficit with three runs in the fifth. Ryan Owens was two for three with two doubles and a run batted in for the Raiders (6-0).
Sunny Hills 7, Troy 2--Pete Flores and Steve Barragan hit back-to-back doubles to drive in three runs in the second inning for visiting Sunny Hills (5-2, 1-0).
In the Golden West League:
Servite 4, Ocean View 3--The Friars rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the top of the seventh. Pitcher Brian Greene started the inning with a two-run single. Ocean View (2-3, 0-1) pitcher Daniel Kehr then walked in a run to tie the score, 3-3. Third baseman Chris Rodenbour’s sacrifice drove in the winning run. Servite is 3-2, 1-0.
Tustin 5, Saddleback 3--Rick Gonzales’ single scored the winning run for Tustin (4-1-1, 1-0).
Westminster 4, Santa Ana 0--Pitchers Keith Bigelow and Wijo Berumen combined for the shutout and Brian Rinkowski went three for four with two RBIs for Westminster (5-1, 1-0).
In the Olympic League:
Calvary Chapel 9, Ontario Christian 3--Ryan Blood was two for four with four RBIs for Calvary Chapel (5-2, 2-0).
Orange Lutheran 3, Brethren Christian 0--Adam Cavaness pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for his first save and run his streak of innings without giving up an earned run to 21 1/3 for Orange Lutheran (4-2, 2-0).
In the Orange League:
Magnolia 3, Savanna 1--Jorge Silva, James Penner and Jerry Paredes had two hits each for host Magnolia (2-1, 1-0).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 2, Laguna Beach 1--Tony Milo pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts to lead Laguna Hills (5-1, 1-0).
University 3, Aliso Niguel 0--Tim Blackburn pitched a three-hitter, striking out six and walking three. He also hit a two-run home run in the third for University (2-5, 1-0).
In the Sea View League:
El Toro 6, Corona del Mar 3--Travis Vessells’ two-run double in the seventh helped El Toro (4-4) take a 4-3 lead.
Irvine 7, Newport Harbor 3--Senior catcher Ethan Gragnano hit his first home run and drove in two runs for host Irvine (6-0, 1-0).
Santa Margarita 4, Woodbridge 2--Brian Griffin’s triple in the fifth inning drove in Jim Luster for Santa Margarita (2-4).
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 5, Edison 4 (8)--A double by Anthony Calacion scored the winning run in the top of the eighth for Esperanza. Jeff Gonterman and Brandon Large each hit homers for Edison (2-3, 0-1).
Marina 17, Los Alamitos 1--Craig Wilson had two home runs and six RBIs to lead Marina (6-1, 1-0).
In nonleague baseball:
San Clemente 5, Los Amigos 3--Reagan West was two for three with a double, home run and three RBIs for host San Clemente.
