Police on Thursday identified a 19-year-old man fatally wounded at a laundermat as Duy Vu of Garden Grove.
Vu was hit several times by gunfire at the laundermat at Trask Avenue and Hoover Street at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Westminster Police Lt. Andrew Hall.
Police are looking for an Asian man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, clean-shaven with slicked back hair, wearing a tan jacket and traveling in a mid-1980s, dark imported car.
Vu was at the laundermat, in the 7500 block of Trask, apparently waiting for someone, Hall said. The suspect and another man about the same age came in, spoke with Vu for a few minutes and left.
Shortly thereafter, the suspect returned and fired five to six shots at Vu with a handgun, witnesses told police, and fled in a waiting car.
