Two women in a car that reportedly went through a red light were killed Friday and five teen-agers suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Woodland Hills.
The accident occurred about 11:15 a.m. at Shoup Avenue and Oxnard Street, said city Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis.
The women, who were in their 70s, died at the scene, Collis said. They reportedly were in a blue car that was struck by a white Ford Explorer occupied by the teen-agers.
The car was northbound on Shoup Avenue when the driver apparently ran a red light, and the auto was struck broadside by the eastbound Explorer, which overturned, authorities said.
