In Big West Conference softball:
UC Santa Barbara 2-4, Cal State Fullerton 1-5 (second game, 9 innings)--Chris Zboril’s two-out double scored Christina Wagy with the winning run in the second game for third-ranked Cal State Fullerton.
Freshman Brandi Isgar (17-5) gave up one hit in six innings of relief to earn the victory.
In the NCAA Division I Region 8 men’s tennis championships:
Cal 4, UC Irvine 2--Kenny Cruz managed UC Irvine’s lone singles victory, beating David Sutton, 0-6, 6-4, 7-6, in the semifinal match. Chris Tontz and Fred Bach won at No. 1 doubles, 9-8, and Marc-Andre Tardif and Julian Foxon won at No. 2 doubles, 8-5, for the Anteaters.
