The annual St. Paschal Baylon Church Community Festival kicks off Friday at the Catholic church at Janss and Moorpark roads.
The three-day event--which usually attracts about 7,000 people--raises money for schools, food baskets and charities, including Many Mansions, Seniors and Manna.
The Thousand Oaks festival will feature international food, carnival rides for adults and children, and various games, such as a putting competition and hammer contest where participants prove their strength by hitting a target with a hammer.
Bingo will be offered all three nights. On Saturday night, there will be an auction featuring such prizes as golf equipment, weekend getaways and local artwork. On Sunday evening, there will be a silent auction, where buyers can submit their bids in writing.
The festival will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
