Woman Killed in Robbery Attempt

VAN NUYS — A 30-year-old woman was shot and killed during a robbery attempt Tuesday night, police said.
The woman, a Van Nuys resident whose name was not released, was shot in the head during a robbery attempt at a market in the 7400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard about 6:06 p.m., Los Angeles Police Lt. Don Farrell said. She was taken to Valley Presbyterian Hospital, where she died about 9:15 p.m.
The gunman escaped, and there are no immediate suspects, police said.
