Blue, Channel Catfish Are the Word at Irvine

Blue and channel catfish have become active at Irvine Lake as many anglers have been checking in with full stringers of fish.

The largest was caught by Lynn Maxwell of Redondo Beach--a 46-pounder that took a chunk of mackerel at Santiago Flats.

Lisa Arriola of Anaheim netted a 8 1/2-pounder using an inflated night crawler and Robert Johnson of Downey capped his limit with a five-pounder taken on mackerel.
