HUNTINGTON BEACH — Unisource Corp. announced it will expand its customer service operations next month and move them from Long Beach to Huntington Beach, creating more than 100 new jobs for Orange County.
The wholesale paper distributor cited Huntington Beach’s reputation as a safe city and the high number of professionals living in the area. “We were looking for a secure area with good schools and a high-quality work force,” said Bob DiMascio, executive vice president of Unisource, a subsidiary of Philadelphia-based Alco Standard Corp.
A total of 175 employees will staff the new office in the Guardian Center at Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue, but about 75 employees will be transferred from other company offices.
Unisource’s Pacific headquarters will remain in Long Beach.
