LeRoy Farrar, a lifelong Ventura resident and an avid golfer, has died. He was 66.
Born in Ventura in 1928, Farrar died Wednesday at his home in Foster Park after a brief illness, said his son, Cliff Farrar of Ojai.
A graduate of Ventura High School, Farrar worked in the family auto shop business for 33 years. He opened a Farmers Insurance agency in Oxnard and retired in 1994, said Cliff Farrar.
In addition to his son, Farrar is survived by his wife, Geraldine Farrar; a brother, Gerald Farrar of Ojai; four other sons, Ron Farrar of Ojai, Mike Farrar of Delta Junction, Ala., George Farrar of La Porte, Colo., and John Farrar of Ojai; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
