PREP NOTES : Edison’s Philman Commits to UCLA

Marie Philman, Edison basketball player and Times Orange County first-team selection last season, has orally committed to UCLA. Philman is a 6-foot forward who averaged 24.5 points and 12.3 rebounds for the Chargers (30-7).
Corona del Mar has named former UC Irvine soccer coach Derek Lawther, 49, to coach its boys’ soccer team.
