Man Who Left Vehicle Hit, Killed on Freeway

A motorist who apparently left his disabled truck and stepped into a southbound lane of Interstate 5 was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon by a big rig, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Michael Doka, 21, of Laguna Hills apparently stumbled or wandered into the path of oncoming traffic after parking his pickup on the freeway shoulder, CHP Officer Keith Bauer said.
“The investigation is incomplete,” Bauer said, but “it appears that a male Caucasian inadvertently entered the No. 4 lane of the freeway after his vehicle had mechanical problems.”
