Parking Tickets and Personal Responsibility
- Share via
Although I’m sure the Gripe “Car Fees and Parking Tickets Are a Tax On the Poor” (April 20) was a joke, I would like to respond to Lionel Rolfe as if he were serious. In fact, I think I have seen his car illegally parked. It was the one with the headlight out and red paper taped over the taillights.
Mr. Rolfe, here are a few ideas that may help you:
1. Quit thinking of yourself as a victim.
2. Take responsibility for your actions.
3. If you have a problem with fees, etc., in California, call Willie Brown, who controlled California ever since I’ve been paying taxes. I think he did once try to tax air!
4. Get a full-time job.
5. Write books that are interesting, so they will sell.
6. Read the April 20 article in the Times regarding Richard Van Sloten. He is 48 years old. He has three daughters. His wife, Martha, just died from breast cancer and he is dying from a brain tumor.
7. Quit whining.
