A Music Venture for Pioneer: Japanese giant Pioneer Electronics Corp. is about to enter the music business with its own record label, to be based in Nashville. The multimillion-dollar venture, Pioneer Music Group, will be run by industry veteran Charlie Lico with former Eagles rocker Bernie Leadon heading up the talent acquisition department. Pioneer, a leader in the consumer and commercial electronics fields, plans to create a full service record label with artist signings in country, Christian, rock and other genres.
