Williams’ ‘Official’ Music

Mark Swed’s attack on John Williams and his Olympic music (“The Best Music Doesn’t Get ‘Official’ Nod,” July 18) was uncalled for. If Swed wishes to praise the music of Michael Torke, fine. Why did he find it necessary to denigrate the work of another artist while doing so? And why did The Times consider this attack worthy of publication?
