North Korea’s Kye Sun ended the 84-match winning streak of Japan’s Ryoko Tamura with a victory in the women’s extra-lightweight division as Olympic judo competition ended.
In the men’s event, Tadahiro Nomura of Japan stopped Girolamo Giovinazzo of Italy to capture the under-132-pound class.

Amarilis Savon of Cuba and Yolanda Soler of Spain took the women’s bronze medals.
In the men’s extra-lightweight final, Nomura was in the lead throughout the match and cemented the victory with a late takedown that gave Japan its third gold medal of the competition.
The men’s bronze medals went to Germany’s Richard Trautmann and Dorjpalam Narmandakh of Mongolia.
