The New York Mets said pitcher Jason Isringhausen will be placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained rib cage muscle.
The 23-year-old right-hander is 5-13 with a 4.79 ERA.
To take his roster spot, the team is expected to recall relief pitcher Derek Wallace, a former standout at Chatsworth High who helped lead Pepperdine to the 1992 NCAA championship.
