Police Raid Homes to Gather Evidence

More than 30 Oxnard police officers participated Friday in early morning raids of suspected gang members, arresting four juveniles and two adults.
The intent of the raids was to find evidence related to a July 31 drive-by shooting on Channel Islands Boulevard in which two youths were seriously injured, said Oxnard Police Cmdr. Chuck Hookstra. Later Friday, investigators were sifting through evidence collected in the raids and were not sure if they had met that goal, Hookstra said. Police arrested two 15-year-olds and two 17-year-olds in the raid.
One of the youths was a suspect in a recent robbery and another had ammunition and a sawed-off shotgun, officials said.
The two adults--Maria Hidalgo, 47, and Luis Anaya, 18--were arrested on suspicion of interfering with officers, Hookstra said.
