HealthPlan Services to Buy Health Risk Management: HealthPlan Services Corp., a provider of health-care administration services to small companies, said it will acquire the Minneapolis-based concern for about $80 million. Health Risk Management Inc., which had revenue of $54 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, is a managed-care services concern whose products include “smart software” programs, which are used to help decide whether an individual case justifies certain medical treatments. Under terms of the deal, Tampa, Fla.-based HealthPlan will swap $9.69 cash and about 0.36 of a HealthPlan share for each Health Risk Management share. The deal is expected to close in 1997.
