An 18-year-old transient was arrested Friday in connection with several burglaries and auto thefts in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, authorities said.
Navas Dowling was taken into custody without incident by Simi Valley police about 11 a.m. in the 3900 block of Cochran Street, according to Sgt. Mike King. Dowling was seen driving a 1995 Lexus that was reported stolen during a residential burglary in Valencia, King said.
Detectives with the Simi police had been searching for Dowling for about a month following a series of home burglaries. During the crimes, the burglar took keys to victims’ vehicles as well as other property that was easy to conceal, according to police.
On Friday, authorities recovered the Lexus from Dowling as well as numerous credit cards, officials said.
Dowling was being questioned by Simi police Friday afternoon and was expected to be booked into Ventura County Jail.
