Girl’s Slaying Linked to Scenes in Movie

An 8-year-old girl was killed by a shot to the forehead as she and other children imitated scenes from the movie “Set It Off,” police said. A 10-year-old girl was charged with manslaughter and taken to a juvenile detention center in Bridgeport, Conn. Tynisha Gathers was shot by one of three other children who had watched a videotape of the movie with her, police said. They found a .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun. Detectives said they were investigating how the children got access to the weapon.
