The Irvine Co. has given the Irvine Public Schools Foundation a $350,000 donation as part of a $3 million pledge it made in 1996.
The latest donation brings Irvine Co.’s total contribution to $1.9 million. The remaining $1.1 million of the pledge will be fulfilled by August 1998, said Joe Davis, president of the Irvine Co.’s home building division.
Davis presented the check to the foundation earlier this month at an Irvine Unified School District board meeting. Davis said the company’s $3-million pledge will go toward enhancing the school district’s technology curriculum.
The foundation plans to use the money to buy computer equipment for classrooms and train teachers how to use it, said Elizabeth Thomas, a foundation board member.
