Richard S. Staley, a prominent harness owner and breeder who lived in La Jolla, died Feb. 19 at Scripps Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 66.
Among his top horses that raced at Los Alamitos this season are Federal Yankee, one of the top trotters in the nation, American Hustle and Superior Motion.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, 1:30 p.m., at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at Interstate 805 and Imperial in San Diego.
