Venice High Wins City Science Bowl

Venice High School has successfully defended its regional Science Bowl title and will compete for the national crown for the second year in a row May 2 in Washington.
The five members of the winning Venice team beat 42 teams from 26 Los Angeles-area schools in Saturday’s contest in downtown Los Angeles. Students were tested in physics, chemistry and other science in a quiz show format. Van Nuys High School, which won the national title in 1995, finished second.
Venice High will compete against almost 2,000 other schools. If Venice wins again, it will be the first time one regional competition has produced three consecutive national winners.
