Oxnard Gets Semisweet Upset Over Simi Valley

Jaline Bradley had 28 points and eight steals for Oxnard High in a 60-57 upset of fifth-seeded Simi Valley Saturday night, putting the Yellowjackets in the Division I-AA semifinals.
Shannon Malia and Jensa Metcalf each scored 12 points for the host Pioneers (20-10), who opened the game with an 11-4 run and led, 27-26, at halftime.
The Yellowjackets (16-11) went on a 10-2 surge to start the third quarter and Simi Valley didn’t get close again until Christina Mosesso hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.
Mosesso scored 11 points and Jamie Sturdivant added 10 for Simi Valley before fouling out with 27 seconds left.
The game was marred by 42 fouls and 38 turnovers, 22 by Simi Valley.
