Parmenter Makes Splash With Two Records

Jennifer Parmenter of Granada Hills broke two Southern California records at the California State Swimming Championships last week at Belmont Plaza.
Parmenter timed 1:59.88 in the 200-yard individual medley, breaking the 1988 record set by Janet Evans (2:00.72).
In the 200 backstroke, Parmenter finished in 1:58.01, breaking the mark of 1:59.21, set by Cheryl Murphy in 1993.
Running
Cal Lutheran’s 1997 Runfest is scheduled for 10 a.m. March 15 in Kingsmen Park.
There is a $10 entry fee for the five-kilometer walk/run. Registration forms must be received by March 10. All proceeds go to Cal Lutheran’s Student Union Building Improvement Fund.
