Jeep Driver

I enjoyed “The High and Mighty” by Larry Gordon (March 14), even though we have one of those dreaded SUVs (a Jeep Grand Cherokee). When I was driving to work in my low-to-the-ground car, I had similar thoughts about the behemoths in front of and behind me. I even considered campaigning for a law to keep them in the right (or truck) lanes.

Now I am one of them. We got the Jeep to help us get to our mountain cabin through winter snow, after we got stuck in our Audi Quattro. Sometimes, that extra clearance helps. Also, now there’s more room for our dogs. At least I don’t get in the way during rush hour, now that I am retired.
