Nixon Tapes

Re “Nixon Estate, U.S. Near Deal on Library,” April 5: Outrageous. It would be shameful to give the Nixon family 26 million taxpayer dollars for tapes he illegally recorded in the White House and for the documents he generated as part of his job as president.
People whose voices he recorded without permission have more of a proprietary right to those tapes than the president who resigned in disgrace.
If that money is paid to the Nixon family, then all American taxpayers will truly be the victims.
