Universal Recreation Names CEO

Cathy A. Nichols, a 22-year veteran of the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., has been appointed chairman and chief executive of Universal Studios Recreation Group.
Her appointment fills a key position for Universal Studios because the entertainment conglomerate has identified the theme park business as a prime area for strategic investment. The company is a unit of Seagram Co.
Nichols will oversee all of Universal Studios’ recreation businesses, including the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, CityWalk and Universal Studios Florida.
She will also be responsible for all new business development and all future theme park expansion globally.
Universal also announced that Tom Williams has been promoted to president and chief executive for Universal City Florida.
