30 Students to Get Juris Doctor Degrees

Thirty local students at Ventura College of Law are scheduled to receive the degree of juris doctor during graduation ceremonies Saturday.

About 400 family members, guests and faculty members are expected to be on hand for the ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. at Poinsettia Pavilion on Foothill Road in Ventura.

Ventura County Superior Court Judge Steve Z. Perren will be the keynote speaker.

County residents among the 38 people in the Class of 1997 are Janis Ferrin Allen, Eugene C. Kinsey Jr. and Robert R. Lerma of Camarillo; Laura Victoria Kline Bartels of Fillmore; Dale A. McIntire of Moorpark; Roland Charles Peters and Ahmad S. Razavi of Newbury Park; Angela Leah Gilmartin of Oak Park, and Victoria C. Jordan, Robert Eric Touake and Andrea Vigil of Oxnard.

Also, David Michael Ward and Mark Andrew Watson of Port Hueneme; Melania Lynn Miles of Santa Paula; W. Joyce Coger, Russell Dale Lange, Cynthia M. Pandolfi and Tamra Annette Urie of Simi Valley; Houman Hamidzadeh and Panchanathan Reghunathan of Thousand Oaks, and J. Nicholas Borgman-Brouwer, Robert J. Bravo, Mark Wheeldon Buchanan, Maria L. Capritto, DarAnn Leah Dearing, Aileen T. Kroll, Michael E. Kuntzman, Rosella Vera, Elena Rynsky and John Alton Simpson of Ventura.

Founded in 1969, the school is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. There are 300 students attending the Ventura campus and its sister campus in Santa Barbara. Many college alumni are prominent members of the bar throughout California, school officials said.
