ZODIAC TONIGHT

Opponent--Seattle Sounders

Site--Santa Ana Stadium

Time--7:30

Records--Sounders 2-2, Zodiac 1-2

Sounder update--Seattle has opened with two games each against Vancouver and Colorado and split with both opponents. The Sounders, tied for second in the Pacific Division of the A-League with California, haven’t played since hosting Colorado Saturday.

Zodiac update--The Zodiac, still struggling to find its stride, gets another chance tonight. Wednesday’s 3-0 loss at Vancouver came in difficult conditions--steady rain and temperature in the 40s. Three Zodiac starters--forward Gustavo Leal and midfielders Sergio Mengual and Carlos de la Roza--didn’t make the trip for the team’s first road game because of minor injuries. They are expected to be available tonight. Goalkeeper Mike Gartlan said the team is making progress but its youth often shows against more experienced teams. “We’ve got to look at it in a different way with this team,” Gartlan said. “We’re going to take some lumps but once we get it sorted out we’ll be fine.”
