False Alarm at Government Center
A malfunctioning smoke alarm led to the evacuation Friday of the county Government Center in Ventura.
An alarm went off about 1 p.m. inside the center at 800 S. Victoria Ave., and officials ordered the buildings evacuated.
County employees as well as those with business in court were ordered out. Authorities called the evacuation orderly and said no one was injured.
The problem may have been caused by workers doing electrical repairs.
