MIAMI — Jim Eisenreich singled home the winning run in the 12th inning with his third hit of the game as the Florida Marlins rallied from a four-run deficit and beat the Montreal Expos, 5-4, Monday night.
Florida trailed, 4-0, in the sixth, when Bobby Bonilla hit a two-run homer off Jeff Juden to start the rally.
Mark Kotsay and Eisenreich hit RBI groundouts in the seventh off Dave Veres.
Edgar Renteria singled off Omar Daal (1-2) leading off the 12th, Kotsay sacrificed and Bonilla was intentionally walked. Eisenreich then slapped a hard shot down the third-base line under the backhand attempt by third baseman F.P. Santangelo.
Robb Nen (7-2) pitched two scoreless innings. He got out of a first-and-third jam in the 12th when Santangelo popped up a squeeze bunt and Florida turned it into a double play.
Juden, who had won six consecutive starts since June 4, gave up three runs and seven hits in six innings.
Marlins starter Pat Rapp left trailing, 4-0. He gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings.
Rondell White hit an RBI double in the second, and Santangelo had a run-scoring grounder in the third. Santangelo hit an RBI double in the fifth and Henry Rodriguez’s 18th homer made it 4-0 in the sixth. Rodriguez had been in a 1-for-30 slump.
Marlin outfielder Moises Alou, son of Expo manager Felipe Alou, did not start but pinch-hit in the eighth.
White’s double was the 200th for Montreal, tops in the majors. Santangelo added No. 201.
