Hueneme 28, Ventura 16--Hueneme’s Jason Beck connected with Keary Colbert on a 52-yard touchdown pass play with 3:30 to play at Hueneme High.

Beck completed eight of 14 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. His nine-yard scoring pass to Jonathan Tasker late in the second quarter gave the Vikings (4-4, 2-3) a 13-7 halftime lead.

Ventura (2-6, 1-4) pulled to within 21-14 with a one-yard touchdown run by Chris Gonzalez with 8:49 to play. Two minutes later, Ventura recorded a safety when a snap from center sailed over the head of punter Moses Gonzalez and out of the end zone.
