Knicks Have No Answers for Hill’s 34

Grant Hill was a one-man show in the fourth quarter until Lindsey Hunter took over in the final two minutes as the Detroit Pistons spoiled New York’s home opener by defeating the Knicks, 94-86, Sunday night.
Hill scored 15 of his 34 points in the final period and Hunter had 23, including nine in the final two minutes.
“He got it going and I helped out at the end,” Hunter said. “It’s all about me maturing and our team maturing.”
The Pistons trailed for most of the first three periods and fell behind, 67-58, early in the fourth quarter when Hill went to work. He scored eight consecutive points as Detroit went on a 10-0 run to go ahead, 68-67.
Patrick Ewing and Larry Johnson scored 16 apiece for New York.
Orlando 107, Boston 96--Anfernee Hardaway scored 32 points as the Magic won at Boston to give Chuck Daly his first win as Orlando coach.
Orlando made 54.8% of its shots, including nine of 17 on three-point attempts, and Boston hit only 38%.
Houston 93, Sacramento 77--Hakeem Olajuwon scored 18 points and helped the Rockets limit the host Kings to seven fourth-quarter points.
Trailing, 74-71, early in the fourth quarter, the Rockets used three-point baskets by Eddie Johnson and Brent Price to take the lead for good with an 8-0 run.
Sacramento didn’t score in the final 5:09.
