Loose Wires Cause Camarillo Power Outage

CAMARILLO — More than 10,000 customers lost power for 27 minutes Friday because of loose wires in a transformer, an Edison official said.
Rudy Gonzales, regional manager for Southern California Edison, said 10,333 customers in the northeast section of the city lost power from 1:45 p.m. to 2:12 p.m. while workers fixed the problem.
Power was out west of Camarillo Springs Road, east of Mobile Avenue, north of Pleasant Valley Road and south of Upland Road, Gonzales said.
The outage did not cause any reported vehicle accidents, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
But the incident was not without its inconveniences.
Janet Langer, manager of Pastabilities restaurant on Verdugo Way, said she could not charge meals to credit cards while the power was out.
“[Those] with credit cards had to wait,” she said.
