Bruins Enjoying Week Off
The benefits of a week without having to prepare for a Saturday game have been ample for UCLA, which practiced lightly Thursday and then relished a three-day weekend without football.
Without playing football, that is. There will be plenty watched on Saturday.
Another benefit of not having to play a game is giving some banged-up players a chance to rehabilitate. Danjuan Magee (knee), Javelin Guidry (knee), Andy Myers (wrist) and Shaun Williams (ankle) are among those who have practiced lightly all week, but who could have played had there been a game on Saturday.
And the real benefit has been four extra days spent in preparation to play Washington on Nov. 15. Most of the offensive and defensive game plans have been put in, with extra work available to polish them next week.
