Spotlight: Sales of Million-Dollar Homes at 6-Year High

Luxury home sales reached the highest level since 1991, signaling continued confidence in the state’s economic rebound, Acxiom/DataQuick of La Jolla reported Wednesday. Sales of 1,004 homes for $1 million or more were reported for June, July and August, up 39.5% over year-ago figures. In 1991, 1,028 homes in the same price range were sold. The San Francisco area showed the strongest sales--379 such homes. The most expensive home sold was in Brentwood; it fetched $5.9 million.
