Mother Claims Baby After DNA Tests

A mother who refused to take her baby home from a Memphis hospital because she was not sure the child was hers finally went and got him. LaDonna Harris, 23, took home the baby she labeled “ugly” two weeks ago, a comment her lawyer said was made in a moment of anguish. Harris gave birth to the boy April 10 but went home two days later with another mother’s baby due to a hospital mix-up. DNA tests confirmed the switch. Her lawyer said Harris was happy with the test results and eager to claim her baby.
