Edwards, Two Reserves Lead Rage Over Blizzard

Teresa Edwards scored 24 points and Chasity Melvin and Beth Morgan had big games off the bench as the Philadelphia Rage defeated the New England Blizzard, 80-72, on Sunday before 8,524 at Hartford.
Melvin’s three-point play broke a 23-23 tie and keyed an 11-2 run early in the second quarter.
Melvin’s tip-in with 3:40 left gave the Rage their biggest lead, 76-58. She finished with 21 points. Morgan scored 12, and Andrea Nagy had 11 assists.
Columbus 66, Chicago 58--Tonya Edwards scored a game-high 19 points and Shannon Johnson had 12 points and 10 assists as the Quest beat the Condors before 2,855 at Columbus, Ohio.
Yolanda Griffith, who played for Long Beach last season, led Chicago with 18 points. Angie Potthoff had 18 points for the Quest.
Colorado 103, Nashville 68--Edna Campbell scored 18 points and Dana Wynne added 16 as the Xplosion defeated the expansion Noise before 2,189 at Denver.
The Noise had 33 turnovers and leading scorer Saudia Roundtree was two for six from the field and was held to four points, 17 below her average. The Xplosion took control in the second quarter, outscoring Nashville, 32-16.
Seattle 81, San Jose 77--Kate Starbird scored 18 points to lead the Reign before 4,253 at San Jose.
The Reign rallied from a 13-point deficit.
