Little Saigon Cafe Shotgun Victims Are Identified

The two victims of a cafe shooting earlier this week were identified Saturday as Derek Ruttle, 47, of Costa Mesa and Vy Tram Nguyen, 27, of Garden Grove.
The innocent bystanders were caught in the middle of a violent rampage Thursday evening when a jealous husband entered the Little Saigon Cafe on Euclid Street in Garden Grove and opened fire before fatally shooting himself, police said.
The husband had suspected his wife of having an affair and had gone to the restaurant, where she worked, to seek revenge, police said.
He did not harm his 27-year-old wife, whose identification was not released.
Instead, he aimed his shotgun at Nguyen, a waitress, and Ruttle, who died at the scene.
Nguyen was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she later died.
Police said the gunman, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, also is suspected of abusing his wife prior to the shooting.
